Shamanic Journeying is an ancient technique used to deepen one’s spiritual connection. Experience the healing power of a drum circle ceremony with the intention to grow our inner peace and awareness. The reason journeys work so well is that they use the drum, which follows a fast rhythm. This rhythm affects the theta waves within your brain and helps alter the perception of reality, thereby taking you into a trance or journey. The journey is referred to as a trance state. When you go into any trance you gradually progress from ordinary consciousness into deeper levels. We can shape our intention prior to entering a journey to help guide us on what it is we are hoping to change, explore, or heal. We may journey to the lower world to seek understanding as to why a new power animal has entered our lives or the upper world to learn from the spirit guides. Perhaps one will journey to the heart chakra for matters of love or to the root chakra to work on trust. We can also shape the alter we use and the ritual we perform. We set up prior to entering a spiritual journey. And yes, we can even tailor the smudge we use to best resonate with the work and healing we wish to perform. One of the greatest things about journey work; and most shamanic tools, is that they can be used on their own, or in conjunction with other belief systems.
